Windmills, tulips, little Holland
Just in time for Dutch tulip season in April 2024, the 112-people team of Deutsche Bahn (the largest German national rail provider) planned their annual incentive trip to Amsterdam with us. The focus was on the vibrant tulip fields, the picturesque canals, and—topping it all off—the famous windmill village of Zaanse Schans. Together with the organizers, we developed a two-day program that included all the highlights. Authentically Dutch was certainly the theme of this trip!
At the time, a tulip-themed art exhibition was being held in the lobby of a well-known boutique hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, making it the perfect place to accommodate the group. The organisers were truly looking for a carefree weekend where all details have been considered and have been taken care of. To provide the highest level of comfort, our hosts and event managers greeted the group at their hotel in the morning and accompanied them to the nearby bus parking area. After a 30-minute ride in 3 private coaches, the group arrived at their first highlight of the day: the Dutch village Zaanse Schans with its charming windmills, fields, and little houses.
To allow for a more personal experience, the group was divided into five smaller sub-groups for a 2.5-hour tour of the area. Led by our certified guides, the tour included a visit to a traditional wooden clog workshop as well as a local cheese shop.
“Our employees are always looking forward to the yearly incentive trip. Because of your planning and expertise, Amsterdam was one of our favourite locations ever. Thank you for the great collaboration.”
Private Lunch and a trip to Keukenhof
The cheese tasting posed a great start to the following lunch that the Deutsche Bahn team enjoyed in a privately rented restaurant close to Zaanse Schans. During lunch, which consisted of gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads, everyone got the chance to exchange experiences and socialise. Our planning always involves carefully placed breaks for socialising and relaxing. After lunch, the organisers gave the group the choice between returning to Amsterdam for leisure time or – which is what most participants chose – a visit to famous Keukenhof.
The colourful tulip fields were in full bloom as we arrived after a short 40-minute drive. We offered a choice between guided tour and self-exploration of the beautiful tulip fields. During the entire half day trip, our hosts, certified guides and event managers were present to answer any questions and ensure a smooth schedule.
In the evening, the group headed to the carefully chosen dinner venue. The organisers wished for a location within walking distance from their hotel, which we gladly fulfilled. Our hosts personally escorted the group to the restaurant in a special historic location in the centre of Amsterdam. In a private area, the group enjoyed their 3-course dinner with specifically requested steak option and complementary drinks package.
